VIG Special Invitation 2016

The VIG SPECIAL INVITATION is a project aimed at promoting art students from Central and Eastern Europe. This initiative of the Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, the main shareholder of Vienna Insurance Group, forms part of a successful partnership with the Essl Art Award CEE launched back in 2007. For the first time this year, the distinction was awarded independently from the Essl Art Award CEE to respectively one nominee from each country. It is linked with a group exhibition at the Wiener Ringturm, the group’s headquarters: In 2016, the VIG SPECIAL INVITATION will display works specifically created or adapted by the awarded artists for the exhibition. The project is one of numerous initiatives of the Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein with focus on Central and Eastern Europe and highlights its commitment to the region. With approximately 50 companies and 23 000 employees, the VIG maintains an on-site presence in 25 countries of the region and is the leading insurer in Austria and the CEE.
